During ARTmania Festival and tailored especially for this event ASTRA is presenting an exquisite exhibition of non-european musical instruments. Between Sound and Music will be open for the full weekend between 10:00 am and 6:00pm.

Free entrance, but limited to first 100 atendees. Be there early!

ARTmania Festival and „Franz Binder” Universal Ethnography Museum invites you to „rock the museum”. Yes, we are talking about a museum and those who will fill with sounds all the space in here are Poemisia, a symphonic/grotesque metal band formed in Naples in 2011. The musical style of the band is focused on sounds which combine metal music to opera and symphonic elements, which are also made by the light-lyric soprano voice of Tina.

About the expo: When it comes to music, the first thing that comes to mind is diversity. The diversity of genres, musical instruments and cultures. Music is not just sound, it is a way of living, clothing, a way of thinking . Music influences our mood. Each of us identify ourselves with the music we listen. Music, nowadays, is a complex work, perfected throughout the centuries, the actual result being influenced, to a great extent, by the evolution of technology.

What „Franz Binder” Universal Ethnography Museum propose during the ARTmania Festival is a display of less common musical instruments, from various parts of the world, based on components of animal or vegetable origins, some of them being clasified as Thesaurus. The exhibition features blowing instruments, strings and percussion totaling more than 60 objects from the museum collections.

On this occasion we will premiere over 30 musical instruments donated recently by a passionate collector, Mr. Hans Peter Connerth, along with many other extra-European ethnographic objects, the evidence that the heritage of the Museum enriches permanently. Visting hours: 10:00 – 18:00.
